These months I’ve been getting so lazy to write down what I saw and what I felt in the trip.

The experience and the people you met are unique. Probably for most of the people, I may not have a chance to see them again in the rest of my life.

Saigon leaves remarkable impression to me, although the public transportation is not so convenient. As solo backpacker, hiring Grab Bike is a cheap and effective alternative option.

Here is the scene on the first night when I arrived Saigon. A friendly reminder, don’t buy any food in the street if there is no price. Ask price before ordering anything.

近来实在是太慵懒,每回旅行回来后,除了整理照片以外,再也不愿意给旅程做一些简短的记录,直到半年后.

每一次旅途的经历和遇见的人理论上都是唯一的, 也许大多数旅途中遇见的人, 这辈子可能都没有机会再次见到.

西贡(胡志明)给我留下了一个很不错的印象. 虽然交通不算便利, 但胜在有Grab Bike, 作为独行背包客, 也算是一种便宜且高效的替代出行选择.

由于住在第一郡, 市政中心附近, 当晚到达西贡安置好以后, 便到附近的广场溜达. 值得注意的是, 千万不要买当地的无价格牌的小吃, 我只点了几串油炸的肉串, 结果我吃完后被索要将近 30万越南盾.

Fortunately, I got nice weather on those days. Even with Samsung S10, I can get pretty nice shots. These years I rarely plan the trips, I like walking through different streets and lanes. If tired, I would stop and grab a cup of coffee at the corner. Saigon is mixture of old & modern.

庆幸的是, 天气还算不错. 光线充足, 手机直出的照片都还不错. 近年我都很懒, 几乎不做任何攻略, 随性走到哪看到哪. 累了就停下喝杯咖啡. 电充满再继续走.

I didn’t stay long in Saigon as I wanted to reserve more days in Nha Trang for scuba diving. 3 day-2 night trip is good enough for me to love this city.

Like other Southeast Asian countries, compared to Hong Kong, the pace in Saigon is slower.

由于最终目的地是芽庄, 也没有计划在胡志明待太久, 可是3日2夜已经足以让我慢慢爱上这座新旧混合的城市.

像其他东南亚国家一样, 逃离香港当然是要去一个步伐更慢的地方了.

I spent 7 days in Nha Trang. Why so long?

Last year when I was diving at Racha Island (Phuket, Thailand), I met a few travelers. After their discovery scuba diving, they told me the water in Nha Trang is way much better than Racha Island. I was told that there isn’t even dust in the water and the visibility is excellent.

This time, I chose this cargo container like guest house. Everything was so nice but the gecko. Due to the fully open design, there are a lot of  gecko on the wall of the washrooms. But it was scaring that I found there were no more than 4 guests (including) and we were all in the same room. No one lived in other rooms at all.

The location is close to the long beach. I found this fried pancake tastes really really delicious.

由于此次是潜水trip, 所以行程中有7天规划在芽庄, 当然是为了scuba diving.

至于为什么要计划这么久, 其实也要从去年在普吉岛的皇帝岛的潜水说起, 当时遇到一些体验潜水的游客, 潜完后告诉我说皇帝岛的水并不怎么样, 不像芽庄的水那样清澈且能见度一流. 而且水中几乎看不到杂质.

这次我选了个货柜式的旅店, 除了壁虎以外其他一切都好. 但恐怖的是, 整个旅店只有一间房间有旅客居住, 也正是我那个房间. 每天都会换不同的人, 可是并没有任何人入住其他的房间.

旅店的位置还算靠近海滩, 可以步行去海滩, 海滩上有些人在卖烤饼, 真是超级好吃.

In Nha Trang, Grab Bike service is rarely available, it is less convenient than Saigon for me to go to any attractions. I rent a motorcycle so I could visit Ponagar Tower, Big Budha(Chùa Long Sơn), Nha Trang Cathedral.

Ponagar Tower is Ankor wat style legacy.

芽庄的Grab Bike几乎属于不可用,  方圆几公里都找不到几辆车. 比起西贡来说去一些景点比较不方便. 唯有租一台小摩托, 才得以去占婆寺, 龙山寺大佛, 芽庄大教堂.

占婆寺是吴哥风格的寺庙.

In Chùa Long Sơn, there is huge Budha and sleeping Budha.

龙山寺有樽超大型的佛祖, 还有一个大的卧佛.

Nha Trang Cathedral is a popular attraction. It is a Gothic style cathedral. There are massive group tourists visiting. It is debatable that the cathedral charges 20K VND for entrance fee but it is supposed to be free.

Some European Christians refused to pay.

芽庄大教堂是有名的景点, 特别多旅行团前来打卡. 哥特式的建筑风格, 拍出的照片不要太好看. 只不过有争议的是门口几个大爷收取大约2万盾的门票费用, 虽然并不知道这个门票到底是什么意思, 因为教堂本身是免费的. 为了不误事, 华人们几乎都乖乖交了.  一些欧洲来的基督徒则看不惯他们的做法, 说"教堂不应该收钱, 收钱的我们就不要进去".

I finally found a restaurant by the beach that can make me feel relaxed . The night in Nha Trang is also more diversified than the islands in Philippines.

一顿暴走之后终于在海边找到个可以休息的餐厅. 三四点才吃午餐. 芽庄夜晚的生活也较菲律宾的海岛要丰富的多.

But diving experience is under expected. Maybe my expectation was set too high(not turbid? highly visible?). The water was no so clear as what those travelers said. But it was still not regretful that I met a good Chinese diving trainer, and a Finnish guy (he can do awesome beat box). As well as the trainer’s boss, an experienced diver, is so funny and nice.

只不过潜水的体验有些差强人意. 或许是我的期望值设的太高 (没有杂志?能见度高?). 水质并没有那几个游客说得那么清澈. 但是此行也并不遗憾, 因为遇到了一个非常负责的华人教练/潜导. 还有一个beat box 超屌的芬兰人. 潜店的老板, 一个2-30年潜水经验的越南人, 他们都很友善, 并且说话很搞笑.

On the last day, I had to take the whole day off without diving. I went to Mui Ne with a one day tourism group. There is a little desert. It is so beautiful.

But what made me desperate was that the weeny sands went into my Sony camera. The spinning wheel is resistive.

最后一天留空排氮. 所以安排了美奈一日游. 小沙丘的风景很没, 但是一顿暴晒之后体无完肤.

比较惨的是沙丘上的沙子都极其细微. 以至于进入我的相机转盘, 转动起来卡卡的.

Not sure if I will go to Nha Trang again. But I will miss all the people I met there.

我不确定多久以后我还会再去芽庄, 但是芽庄遇到的所有人, 好到我会想念他们.
